Anna Elizabeth (Macey) Campbell, age 90, of Grants Pass, passed away December 30, 2026 at her home.
Anna was born November 7, 1935 in Reedsport, Oregon to Augustus “Gus” & Aleena Bravo. She had eight siblings Kitty Viola Harriman, Franklin Edgar Gochanour, Lillian Faith Gochanour Lear, Leon Edgar Gochanour, Iris Vivian Gochanour Gravatt, Claud Dale Wyland, Clarence Lee Wyland, and Anice Velma Wyland Nelson. In 1952 Anna moved with her family from Reedsport to Rogue River where she graduated from Rogue River High School in 1955.
After moving to Grants Pass in 1956, Anna met the love of her life Glenn “Curly” Ivan Campbell while working at First National Bank. Curly came in to cash his check and Anna was the pretty girl that helped him. When he thought she had shorted him cash, he returned to the bank but figured out that two bills had just been stuck together. He felt so bad for troubling her and ended up asking her on a date. They were married on September 7, 1957 in Grants Pass and their marriage lasted 66 years before Curly passed on August 26, 2023.
Anna later worked at ESAM and Litton Industries where she made guidance parts for Tomahawk missiles. She also sold Tupperware where she met lifelong friends that still gather together every month.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars along with her mother Aleena. She volunteered and chaperoned with Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups and 4-H clubs. She was also an avid bowler winning many trophies and head of the women’s bowling league and an avid square dancer and member of the Charlie Brown Squares.
Anna was a loved respected Elder of the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians. Anna was a basket maker and keeper of family history and heritage. She was a carrot cake baker, loved visiting with people and was everyone’s mom or grandma or favorite auntie. She always enjoyed having vegetable and flower gardens.
Anna is survived by her two daughters whom she dearly loved Lynette Gaines and Karen McGuire; three grandchildren Chris McGuire, Kyle Gaines and Morgan Gaines; and six great-grandchildren Savanna, Elayna, Justin, Kamryn, Thorin, and Saralynn “Myrtle”.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Kevin Campbell in 2012.
