Alexander "Jubilee" Bartlett

February 18, 1944 — March 22, 2021

Alexander “Jubilee” Bartlett, age 77, of Chiloquin, OR since 2017, and from Cave Junction, OR since 1996 died in his home on March 22, 2021.

He was born Feb 18th, 1944, to Doris and William Bartlett. He was an only child. He served in the marines and was honorably discharged in 1968. He joined the counter culture movement and lived in a commune/free school where he met Jill Gruenberg, whom he briefly married in 1971. They had two daughters before parting ways. Jubilee remained in their lives, moving from California to Colorado and then to Oregon to be close to them when they moved with their mother.

Jubilee was a scholar, an artist, and a poet. He wrote The Jubilee Kabala, among other works. He enjoyed listening to music and watching shows on DVD. He attended various churches throughout his life and enjoyed talking about Jesus and the Bible. He had a great sense of humor and left silly messages on his answering machine.

He is survived by his daughters Juniper Bartlett of Grants Pass, OR and Genesis Milam of Meridian Idaho, and his grandchildren Angus Gray, Hailey Nelson, Tristan Milam and great grandson Kai Fortner.
