Yolanda Rosary Conway

July 17, 1929 — April 10, 2020

Yolanda Rosary Conway, age 90, of Grants Pass, died April 10, 2020 at her daughter’s home.

Yolanda was born July 17, 1929 in Hartford, Connecticut to Vincentio & Maria (Colaccio) DiNardo. She was raised in Hartford and in 1952 married Edward William Conway. Together they moved from Hartford first to Pomona, California then to Compton, California where they purchased a home and started their family. Yolanda enjoyed homemaking and worked seasonally for Red Devil Fireworks Warehouse in Lynwood, California. 1971 she started work full-time as a clerk for JC Penney in Downey, California working for 16 years until her retirement in 1987. In 1992 she moved to Patrick’s Point, California and in 1996 moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.

Yolanda was a member of Grants Pass Neighborhood Church. She volunteered with a senior citizen response group.

Yolanda loved to sing and was part of the Serenaders senior singing group. She loved the Hallmark Channel, television game shows, and had a green thumb. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids and was a social butterfly in her neighborhood. She had a healthy appetite and loved food! Yolanda always had her lipstick on before leaving the house or visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Joanna & Jim Kekacs of Grants Pass, Oregon; grandchildren Shanon Humphfres and Jeremy Kekacs; and four great-grandchildren Jordyn Humphfres and Jaidyn Humphfres, Aidyn Kekacs and Adelyn Kekacs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Conway April 30, 2004.

Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

A memorial service will be held at later date.
