Winston William Wilber

January 13, 1921 — July 14, 2019

Winston W. “Bill” Wilber
January 13, 1921 – July 14, 2019

Betty M. Wilber
May 28, 1926 – June 16, 2012

Betty was 14 when she and Win first met. She wanted to get married right then, but her mother insisted that she finish high school first. They married in 1944 and Betty died 5 days before their 68th wedding anniversary.

Win served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 in World War II and from 1951 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. After college he worked as an electrical engineer, first for AeroJet General and then for Hanford Nuclear until his retirement in 1986.

In 1986 they moved from Kennewick, Washington to Rogue River. They lived in trailer while Win built their home in Rogue River, which almost made Betty never want to see the inside of a trailer again. That changed with the purchase of an RV, and they spent many happy miles as members of the Crimson Circle chapter of the Good Sam Club.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother, steadfastly by Win’s side raising their three children. They were both active members of the Unity Church of Grants Pass.

They are survived by children Robert C (wife Donna) Wilber of Sparks, Nevada, Bonnie J Wilber (husband Dennis Lackey) of White City, and Barry E (wife Patty) Wilber of Auburn, Washington; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial graveside service for both Winston & Betty will be at 10:00 a.m., August 19, 2019 at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
