Wilma Nash

Wilma Nash, age 91, passed away Sunday, October 9, 1920 in her home in Grants Pass, Oregon.

A viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Redwood Country Church. Private interment will be at Granite Hill Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Born Wilma Lambert on March 25, 1920 in Boswell, Oklahoma, one of eight children, Wilma moved with her family to Blanchard, Oklahoma when she was five years old and then to Redondo Beach, California, when she was fifteen. After graduating from high school, Wilma attended the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University), graduating in 1944. Shortly after, she left for Africa to join her fianc, Joe Nash. They were married in 1945 in Jos, Nigeria. They served 35 years as missionaries with SIM in Nigeria, Sudan, and Liberia, with an 8-year stint in the midst of their overseas service as Principal and teacher at New Hope Christian School, retiring in 1979. Wilma was preceded to glory by her husband and an infant daughter.

She is survived by three children, Ruth Wagnell and Mary Brown, both of Grants Pass, and James Nash of Roundup, Montana; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
