William Max Haycock

William Max Haycock, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A viewing will be from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Savage Street Building Relief Society Room.

A funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Savage Street Building with Bishop Chris Bennett officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 22, 1926 in Cedar City, Utah and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. During World War II he served in the United States Army. He later lived and worked in Vietnam for a couple of years. In 1973 he married Donna Craner and they had one daughter, Deborah Ann. He worked as a sheet metal worker in San Mateo for many years. In 1987 he moved from San Mateo, California to Grants Pass.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also participated on the Relics softball team.

His hobbies included gardening, playing softball and volleyball, and cruises around the world.

Survivors include his wife, Donna C. Haycock and daughter, Deborah Ann Haycock both of Grants Pass; and two sisters, LaVerle Hennessey of Salt Lake City, Utah and Verna Clark of Cedar City, Utah.
