William "Bill" Peterson

William Peterson, 94, of Sunny Valley, Oregon, passed to his rest on his small beloved retirement ranch on November 10, 2020. “Bill” was born on April 9, 1926, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Charles and Lois Peterson. While still in his teen years, he and his family moved to National City, California. He attended San Diego Academy and eventually earned a degree in pharmacology from Oregon State University. Having worked at Paradise Valley Hospital as a teenager and eventually assuming the role of chief pharmacist in the hospital’s pharmacy, he spent 46 years of his life serving the people of Paradise Valley Hospital.

In 1948 he married his first wife of 15 years, Dolores Mayer. He had two sons, Doug and Dan, from that marriage. After a tragic car accident took Dolores‘s life he then married Joan Larson. That marriage was to last 55 years until his death in November 2020. Bill was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church and served many rolls during his life including Deacon, Elder and in his later years one of the official church greeters.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois, and his sister Betty. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his two sons, Doug and Dan, and their wives and family. Bill at the time of his death had five grandchildren and six great grand children.

A memorial service is being planned for Bill on April 11, 2021 at 11 AM in the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist church.
