Wilda E. Matti

Wilda E. Matti, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Spring Pointe.

A memorial graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the American Council of the Blind of Oregon, Rogue Valley Chapter, PO Box 406, Grants Pass, Oregon 97528.

Wilda was born February 3, 1923 in Live Oak, California. In 1941 she graduated from Live Oak High School and attended Chico State College. In 1943 she joined the United States Navy WAVES and served until her discharge in May 1944. On May 19, 1944 in Long Beach, California she married Robert Matti and together they lived in Billings, Montana for 40 years. In July 1986 they moved from Billings to Williams, Oregon and in 2002 moved to Grants Pass.

While living in Billings, she was a member of the American Kennel Club and First Presbyterian Church.

Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, knitting, golfing, and traveling.

In addition to her husband, Robert Matti of Grants Pass, Oregon; she is survived by three sons, Dick Matti of Grants Pass, Oregon, Jim Matti of Ninilchik, Alaska, and Paul Matti of Turner, Oregon; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
