Wesley A. Nashman, age 88, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home.

Private services and interment was held at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Wesley was born October 25, 1925 in Auburn, Washington to Martin & Myrtle Nashman. After high school graduation, he joined the United States Navy during World War II and served as a radioman on a warrior ship in the Atlantic and was a part of the Invasion at Normandy. He then lived in New York where he did odd jobs before moving to California. He became a pilot and worked for the Southern Seaplane Company. On December 31, 2001 in Navarre, Florida he married Chela High Shaier. He moved from Naples, Idaho 7 years ago to Grants Pass.

As a young person, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He liked water activities including fishing and crabbing. He loved the outdoors and was very talented and creative in building, repairing, and solving mechanical problems.

Survivors include his wife, Chela Nashman of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sons, Steven Nashman and Christopher Nashman both of California, and a grandson, David Amato of Brookings, Oregon.
