Wayne Dale Hilterbrand Sr

Wayne Dale Hilterbrand Sr, age 77, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at his home.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 at Riviera Mobile Park Recreation Building. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the Knight Cancer Institute OHSU, Portland, Oregon.

Wayne was born January 10, 1934 in Osceola, Iowa to Harley & Olive Mae (Wilson) Hilterbrand. From 1953 to 1956 he served in the United States Army stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was married Carol Jensen and they later divorced. In 1994 he married Beverley Stanfield, who survives. He was a heavy equipment operator building roads and setting up camp for the Alaska Oil Pipeline crews. He later owned and operated the Chaparral Mobile Ranch in Brooks, Oregon. Wayne lived in Monmouth, Oregon and Brooks, Oregon before moving to Grants Pass, Oregon.

He was a member of the Savage Street Church of Christ in Grants Pass.

In addition to his wife, Beverley Hilterbrand of Grants Pass, Oregon; Wayne is survived by two sons, Wayne Jr (Dana) and Bryan (DeAnn); a stepson, Chad Holbrook (Jo); a stepdaughter, Melissa Canon; a sister, Linda Thompson (Gene); two brothers, Claude (Sharey) and Glen (Beckie); and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathie Griffith.
