Walter Preston "Bud" Beagley

Walter Preston “Bud” Beagley, age 67, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was known as “Uncle Bud” by many and loved by all who knew him.

A visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Interment will follow at Granite Hill Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Bud was born October 15, 1941 in Rosston, Oklahoma to Otis & Marthella June (Gidley) Beagley. He was raised on the farm which his grandfather homesteaded in Rosston at the turn of the century. In 1958 he moved with his family to Idaho and in 1959 he graduated from Nampa High School. In September 1960 in Caldwell, Idaho he married Laura Mae Eells, who preceded him in death in 1989. For several years he worked for Nashua Trailer Factory. He also operated his own cabinet shop and was a general contractor in Idaho. On April 20, 1991 in Nampa he married Alberta Hickman and moved from Marsing, Idaho to Grants Pass. While in Grants Pass, he continued as a general contractor until retiring.

His hobbies included camping, bike riding, BBQing, woodworking, playing the harp, helping others on remodeling projects; and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta Beagley of Grants Pass; a daughter, Lisa Eells and husband Todd of Grants Pass; son-in-law, Charles Griggs and wife Pam of Grants Pass; and seven grandchilden, Jasmine Eells, Lea Mae Eells, Tyler Eells, Lindsey Eells, Brooke Griggs, Allie Griggs, Brittney and Lewis Rossiter and great-grandson, Trenton Rossiter.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanie Griggs in 2006; a grandson, Brandon Griggs in 2004; his parents, Otis & Marthella Beagley; a brother, Wayne Beagley; and two sisters, Joyce Hayes and Jody Sevy.
