W. Frank Barrows

W. Frank Barrows, age 91, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

A viewing will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Chuck Austin officiating. Private interment with military honors will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Frank was born April 14, 1922 in Westfield, Maine to Carroll & Dora (Day) Barrows. During World War II and the Korean War he served in the United States Army. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer working in Washington D.C., Maine, California, and Oregon. In 1956 he received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Loma Linda University – La Sierra campus. While living in California, he designed two funeral homes, the Garden of Prayer in Riverside and Sierra Memorial Chapel in La Sierra. For 13 years he taught Public Relations at San Bernardino Valley College and for four years taught Photography at La Sierra College. In 1977 he moved to Grants Pass where he designed and built his home. For many years he worked at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Frank was a member of the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church where he previously served as an elder.

In addition to his wife, Winifred Barrows; he is survived by a daughter, Cleo Doreen Allen; and two grandchildren, Stefanie Lynn Allen and Cody Dragoo all of Grants Pass, Oregon.
