Virginia Ferne Marcus

Virginia Ferne Marcus, 82, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at her home.

A private gathering will be held. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

She was born March 20, 1924 in Flagstaff, Arizona. She moved from Flagstaff, Arizona to Grants Pass in 1938. In 1942 she graduated from Grants Pass High School. On July 8, 1943 in Grants Pass, OR she married Bob Marcus.

She belonged to Merlin Community Baptist Church where she was a founding member. She also belonged to the Pear Blossom and Grants Pass Doll Collector Clubs. She volunteered time with Meals on Wheels.

Her hobbies included hand work, doll collecting, gardening, camping, hiking, and traveling.

Survivors include four children, Robert L. Marcus Jr of Whidbey Island, Washington; William E. Marcus of San Diego, California; Sharon E. Carroll and Noel R. Marcus both of Grants Pass; a sister, Helen Blair of Grants Pass; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her husband; three brothers, Donald, Ed, and Ben; and four grandchildren.
