Vincent Robert Javoric

January 11, 1922 — July 26, 2007

Vincent Robert Javoric was born January 11th, 1922 in Portland, Oregon, to parents Ante and Eva Javoric, immigrants from Split, Croatia. He attended the historic St. Patrick’s Church and graduated from its school. His growing years were spent playing baseball, basketball, and ice skating. At age 18 he played goalie for the Portland Bobbie Rowe Buckaroo Hockey team. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Air Force as a gunner in Europe. He was awarded a Bronze Star medal for good conduct. His working years were spent in Las Vegas as a Pit Boss in the gaming industry. During this period he met and married Leorene Good. Born to them was a son Anthony and a daughter Arianne. Vince’s favorite past times were horse racing, watching baseball, and spending time with his family. He was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. Vince, Leorene, and family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1978. He regularly attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church there.

He was preceded in death by brothers Milan and John Javoric, and sister Mary Kupp, all of Portland. Remaining is wife Leorene Javoric, son Anthony and his wife Irina Javoric, daughter Arianne Mesman, and granddaughters Alexa and Rylie Mesman, all of Grants Pass, Oregon. Also surviving is one sister, Lesandra Joyner, of Portland, Oregon. He was loved by all and will be missed very much.

Services will be held with Rosary on Wednesday, August 1st, 2007, 5:30 p.m. at Hull and Hull Funeral home. Funeral service is Thursday, August 2nd, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with reception following. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass.
