Victor Joseph Bettencourt, age 75, of Grants Pass, died August 28, 2021 at his home.

Victor was born December 9, 1945 in Petaluma, California to Joseph & Cecilia Bettencourt. He attended schools in Two Rock, California. Victor grew up on a dairy farm, and before school very early each day, he would help his dad on the dairy before showering and going to school. While his first two children were young, he supported his family as a milker at dairies in the Sonoma County area. While his next two children were young, he worked as a truck driver and hydro-seeder. In 1986 he moved from Santa Rosa to Oregon with his third wife and began his career as a self-employed long-haul truck driver retiring at age 65.

His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He enjoyed his beer and spending time with family.

As a young father, he was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife Kim Bettencourt; children Dawn, Jodi, and Victor; stepson Robbie; sister Cathy; brother Martin; grandchildren Kenny, Barbara, Michael, Erica, Charles, Kara, Haley, Victor IV, and Gracie; great-grandchildren Jacob, Nattie, Landon, Melanie, and Evie.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Cherry in 2011 and grandson Victor III in 2001.

Remembrances may be made to the Spears Cancer Center at Asante.

A celebration of life was held at 4:00 p.m., September 4, 2021 at Hummingbird Creek Farm, 625 Red Mountain Drive, Grants Pass.
