Tom Cosaert

Tom Cosaert, age 64, of Grants Pass, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A gathering of family and friends will be at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008 at The R-Haus Restaurant. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Tom was born September 25, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a self-taught mechanic. Later in life, he was known as one of the best Rolls Royce mechanics in the industry. Tom was also a loving father and husband. He married his wife Shirley nearly 44 years ago and they had four children. In 1991 he moved from Los Angeles, California to Grants Pass.

Tom was one of the nicest men that you could ever meet. He filled so many people’s lives with warmth. He will be loved and missed by so many people.

He was a member of the Grants Pass Parkinson’s support group.

Restoring hot rods was his passion. He also loved yard selling.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Cosaert of Grants Pass; four children, James Cosaert of Grants Pass, Mike Cosaert of Los Angeles, Dennette Cosaert of Grants Pass, and Karen Hammers of Portland; a sister Cere Cosaert; three brothers, Mike Cosaert, Phil Peterson, and Scott Fisher; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Cosaert, his mother, Irene Guinta, and his sister, Marina Hilbert.
