Thomas Artoff

Thomas Artoff, age 84, of Rogue River, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at his home.

A celebration of life will be at 12 Noon, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Rogue River High School. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Rogue River High School Girls Softball Team, PO Box 1045, Rogue River, Oregon 97537.

Tom was born October 12, 1928 in San Bernardino, California to immigrant Mike Artoff & Florence Becker-Artoff. On June 7, 1955 he married Lillie Mae Meador. Tom moved his family to Rogue River from San Bernardino to Rogue River in 1968. He worked in construction.

Together with his wife, Lil, Tom became very active in the local schools supporting the sports activities of their children and grandchildren. Tom received an award from Jackson County for his countless hours of volunteer work at the schools. The Rogue River High School Girls Softball Field was named in Tom’s honor, “Bulldog Field,” for his never-ending love of, not only the game, but for each player as well.

Tom also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Tom is survived by seven children, Thomas Artoff of Rogue River, Oregon, Joyce Artoff of Medford, Oregon, Thomas Miller of San Bernardino, California, Dennis Artoff of Rogue River, Oregon, Tim Artoff of Phoenix, Arizona, Iris Brissette of Rogue River, Oregon, and Jim Artoff of Medford, Oregon; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lil Artoff; his father, Mike Artoff; his mother, Florence Mount; two brothers, Sam Artoff and Marty Artoff; and a granddaughter, Jessica Artoff.
