Thelma Kathleen Wilber

Thelma Kathleen Wilber, 81, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at VA Roseburg Healthcare.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to the Eagles Lodge, 130 SE J Street, Grants Pass OR 97526.

Kathy was born March 28, 1925 in Barview, Oregon and was raised in the Marshfield/Coos Bay area. During War War II she served in the U.S. Coast Guard “Spars.” In 1947 she was certified as a Dental Hygienist at the University of Oregon Dental School. In the early 1950s she moved to Glendale and then Grants Pass where she worked at Montgomery Wards for 16 years. In April 1969 in Reno, Nevada she married Winthrop R. Wilber, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of Disabled American Veterans; Eagles Auxiliary; and the American Legion.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking for her family; reading; gardening; and spending time with others.

Survivors include three children, Marla Sadowski of Arizona; Lynn Jones of Bly; and Dean Thompson of Medford; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, F.H. “Bud” Young of Charleston.
