Terri Lee Sams Hilscher

Terri Lee Sams Hilscher, age 56, of O’Brien, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

A gathering of family and friends will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Illinois Valley Chapel. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Terri was born June 27, 1955 in Crescent City, California to Durwood& Marilyn Sams. She attended Illinois Valley elementary schools for two years and attended the Glide schools for 10 years and was a graduate of Glide High School. In 1973 she returned to the valley where she worked at various jobs. She especially enjoyed her bartender and waitress jobs, mainly at the Red Garter Saloon and Steakhouse. Recently she managed the deli at the O’Brien Country Store. In 1991 she met Kurt and they were married one year later.

She was a member in good standing of the Beach Rock Collectors Society of America .

Terri was a Gallon Donor with the American Red Cross.

She was the author of numerous personal commentaries, observations and “MAD RAMBLINGS”. She loved to have fun and tried to be positive at all times.

Survivors include her husband Kurt A. Hilscher of O’Brien; three children, RylieHilscher of Clovis, California, daughter, Brady Rainbow of New Jersey and son, Cooper Hilscher of Clovis, California; father, Durwood L. Sams of Glide, Oregon; two sisters, Vicki S. Cunningham of Gresham, Oregon and Julie A. Hansen-Byers of Petersburg, Alaska; a brother, Scott E. Sams of Cave Junction, Oregon; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn R. Sams.
