Susan H. Renz, age 59 of Williams passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 after suffering from a stroke. She was born in Berkeley, California May 29, 1950 to Helen and William Hamilton.

Susan was raised in Danville, California. She graduated from San Ramon High School and was awarded a teacher’s scholarship. She received a degree in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1972. After college she worked for the California Department of Motor Vehicles as a driver improvement analyst and hearings officer.

In 1981 she moved to Douglas County, Nevada where she married her husband John Renz and had two children Jennifer Renz and Kevin Renz. While living in Nevada Susan worked for Weight Watchers and volunteered as a school aide at Gardnerville Elementary School.

In 1995 Susan and her family moved to Williams, Oregon. Susan was active in the Williams community as the co-editor of the Williams News for many years. Susan was also a volunteer aide at Williams Elementary School. She eventually was employed by the Three Rivers School District as a teacher’s aide and worked at Williams Elementary and subsequently at Jerome Prairie Elementary School until a few days before her death.

Susan is survived by her husband, John Renz of Williams; her son Kevin Renz, also of Williams; her daughter Jennifer Renz of Santa Barbara, California; and her mother Helen Hamilton of Danville, California.

Family and friends will celebrate her life privately later this spring. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
