Susan Carol Richardson

Susan Carol Richardson, age 52, of Grants Pass, died Monday, February 1, 2010.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor David Heisner officiating. A gathering will immediately follow. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Susan was born December 11, 1957 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Orcas Island High School in 1975 and completed a business course in Seattle. On November 15, 1977 in Eastsound, Washington she married John Barrett. After John’s death in 1994 she met and later married Ted Richardson in Snohomish, Washington on June 27, 1999. Sue worked in many positions but rose to Senior Vice President and Manager of Loan Servicing at Washington Mutual Bank. She retired from WAMU in 2002 and moved to Oregon. She was presently employed at Premier West Bank in Eagle Point.

Susan was a member of the National Hotrod Association.

She owned Second Chance Racing, a racing team. She managed the Champion Raceway racetrack at Medford.

Survivors include a son, Michael Barrett of Auburn, Washington; her mother, Carol Bates-Smith of Green Valley, Arizona; her father, Gerald W. Kottong of Lakeland, Minnesota; a sister, Kathy Hansen of Juneau, Alaska; and a brother, Jeffrey Kottong of Warden, Washington.
