Shirley Maxine Cannizzaro

June 26, 1925 — March 15, 2008

Shirley Maxine 'Mimi' Cannizzaro, age 72, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at her home from a long struggle with breast cancer.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Oregon, PO Box 2259, Clackamas OR 97015 or to Susan Komen for the Cure, Oregon and SW Washington Affilate, 1400 SW 5th Ave, Suite 530, Portland OR 97201.

Donations may also be made to the family for a memorial tree to be planted in her memory. Donations to be sent to Linda White, 2977 S. River Road, Grants Pass, OR 97527.

Shirley was born June 26, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Jason & Opal Dodd. On December 28, 1967 at Staten Island, New York she married Santo Cannizzaro. In 1997 she moved from San Jose, California to Grants Pass to be with her daughters.

She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Her hobbies included needlework, painting, and flower gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda White and Jan Sanders both of Grants Pass; a sister, Alice Woehst of Bellville, Texas; a brother, Charles Dodd of Shepherd, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Santo Cannizzaro in March 2006.
