Savannah Pauline Bassett

April 24, 1989 — June 11, 2007

Savannah Pauline Bassett, age 18, of Cave Junction, died Monday, June 11, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident in Cave Junction.

A visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Illinois Valley Funeral Directors and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2007 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2007 at Illinois Valley High School cafeteria. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the IV Pool Committee, PO Box 383, Cave Junction, Oregon 97523. Make checks payable to Josephine Parks Foundation with IV Pool fund in memo section.

Savannah was born April 24, 1989 in Takilma to Chris & Deelia (Cooke) Bassett. She was raised in Cave Junction and attended Evergreen Elementary School, Lorna Byrne Middle School, and was a 2007 graduate of Illinois Valley High School. During high school, she was a cheerleader for four years and was on the competition team her senior year; was involved in swing choir all four years; was a “Cougar Pal” – a high school mentor to elementary children, and a member of Awana’s until her senior year. She planned on attending Linfield College in McMinnville and intended to be an art history major.

Savannah especially enjoyed photography, art, traveling, and reading.

Survivors include her parents, Deelia & Scott Warner of Cave Junction; three brothers, Joshua of Bend and Derek and Sam of Cave Junction; a sister, Nisha of Cave Junction; grandparents, Patsy Mae Bassett of Salem, Frank Cooke of Cave Junction, Patricia Hunt of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Hank Warner of Cave Junction, and Dixie & Norm Cegelnik of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chris Allen Bassett in 2002.
