Sarah Lynn Dalton, 65, of Sunny Valley, Oregon passed into the hands of Jesus Monday, March 16, 2020. She had a short battle with lung and brain cancer, and succumbed to such at a beautiful hospice house in Medford, Oregon.
Born Sarah Lynn Churchill on July 12, 1954 to Luther and Jeannine Churchill in Ukiah, California, she graduated from Ukiah High School in 1972.
She moved to Cave Junction, Oregon with her mother and step-father, Dale Barnes, where they opened a Western Auto Store. It was there that she met and fell in love with Edward McNeil. They were married January 25, 1973, and in May of 1974, produced a daughter, Mandy Lynn Lee McNeil.
They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Sarah worked at Siskiyou Market, The Illinois Valley News, and Select Market in Cave Junction. When she and Ed separated, she moved to Grants Pass and went to work at Bi-Mart. They divorced in 1991.
In 1994, she married James Dalton in Grants Pass. They enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. In 1998, they began a brief career as long haul truck drivers. They hauled freight to most of the lower 48 states. In 2000, she went back to work at Bi-Mart. They divorced in 2002.
Sarah then went to work at Oroweat Bakery outlet in Grants Pass, where she took over as manager until the outlet closed in 2011. She then briefly worked at Fire Mountain Gems in Grants Pass until she was disabled by deteriorating discs in her neck.
Sarah moved onto her sister’s property in Sunny Valley in 2019 and was put in hospice care in March 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Mandy McNeil; sisters Jeannine Wight of Sunny Valley, Brenda McCord of St. Maries, Idaho; brother Samuel Churchill of St. Maries; several nieces and nephews and their offspring.
Per her request, her body was cremated and no service desired.
