Sara Anne Louder

Sara Anne Louder,87, of Grants Pass, Ore., walked through the gates of heaven to meet her loving Savior on August 26th, 2009. Sara Anne was born on June 2nd, 1922, in Mifflintown, PA., to Laine A. Louder and Anna May Tomlinson Louder. Sara Anne is survived by her five children, David York of Rogue River, Ore.; Cami Ruhman of Loveland, Co.; Robin York of Simi Valley, Ca.; Gary York and Sherry Lagere of Newbury Park, Ca.; nine grandchildren, Tammy York, Tricia Bonlender, Tiffany York, Amy Hamilton, Christopher Lagere, Steffenie Ruhman, Alexis Ruhman, Connor York and Keegan York; eight great-grandchildren,Danielle Bonlender, Brooke Staples, Jacob Bonlender, Isaiah Mays, Andrew Bonlender, Kirstie Hamilton, Jacob Hamilton and Meridth Hamilton; one sister, Elaine (Laney) Wiggin; brother-in-law, Neil Wiggin; two nephews, Timothy Wiggin of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Ronald Wiggin of West Seneca, New York. Sara Anne was preceded in death by her father, Laine A. Louder and mother, Anna May Louder.

Sara Anne graduated from Mifflinetown High School in 1939 and went directly into Nursing School. Upon completion of Nursing School Sara Anne was commissioned into the United States Naval Services where she served her country as Medical Officer for 13 years. After serving her country during World War II, Sara Anne went on to serve as a Hospital Nurse within the civilian sector in Southern California, until she retired in 1984.

Once retired, Sara Anne moved to Southern Oregon to be closer to family and start a new life. Sara Anne was a member of the Pink Ladies organization, where she created lasting friendships and served her community by volunteering at local hospitals.

Sara Anne loved to travel and enjoyed exploring new places. She valued her friendships and maintained relationships with her nursing classmates for over 70 years. Sara Anne was a devoted mother, she loved and supported her children and took great pride in their accomplishments. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
