Ruben Sears Silva

Ruben Sears Silva, age 97, of Grants Pass, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Ken Bern officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Ruben was born January 24, 1910 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He married Mildred F. Haines in McCleary, Washington and they were married for over 50 years. In 1955 he moved from Colorado to Grants Pass. For many years he worked for Simpson Logging Company and then retired from Bates Lumber Company after many years.

He especially enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest Silva of Grants Pass and Jerry Silva of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Vickie Barker of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ruby Busto of Durango, Colorado; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Florence Silva.
