Roy A. Powell, age 69, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his home.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Roy was born August 3, 1940 in Long Beach, California to Johnnie & Catherine Powell. He was raised in Southern California. In 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada he married Sue Curtis. In 1966 he moved from California to Grants Pass. He was a locksmith for 25 years working for the Key Man and many people knew him by the name, Key-Roy.
Roy was a member of the Oregon Hunters Association and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
His hobbies included hunting in Eastern Oregon; fishing; camping; and reading.
In addition to his wife, Sue Powell of Grants Pass; he is survived by two daughters, Barbara Murray and Crystal Lyon both of Grants Pass; three sons, Jim Powell of Washington, Jeff Powell of Grants Pass; and John Powell of Simi Valley, California; his stepmother, Shirley Loft of Davenport, Washington; a sister, Bryn Rosen of Davenport, Washington; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
