Roberta L Grandy

Roberta L. Grandy, age 93, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her daughter's home in Winston, OR.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Canyonville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 714 NW Frontage Road in Canyonville with Pastor Chester Schurch officiating.

Roberta was born April 5, 1920 to Tommie and Goldie Moore of Durkee, Oregon. Roberta grew up on the family cattle ranch in Durkee with her four older sisters and four younger brothers. She moved with her mother and younger brothers to Auburn, Washington where she attended Auburn Adventist Academy. She married Robert (Bob) Grandy in 1940. Roberta and Bob moved to Glendale, Oregon in 1954. Roberta was a life time member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed greeting people as they came into church each week. She worked for fifteen years as the receptionist at Forest Glen Senior Residence in Canyonville. She moved from Glendale to Winston in 2007.

She also enjoyed volunteering her time sewing and making quilts at the Seventh-day Adventist Community Service Center in Canyonville. She loved telling stories about her family.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Bob.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Cook of Winston, Oregon; three grandchildren, David L. Bryant of Tujunga, California, Forrest A. Bryant of Berkeley, California, and Dolly Ferguson of Springfield, Oregon: four great-grandchildren, Isabella Foust, Creighton Foust, Bryant Foust and Killian Foust.
