Robert Otto Forster

Born on July 9th 1928 in Meriden, Conn. to Frederic and Eleanor Forster. In 1931 Bob and his widowed mother moved to Brooklyn, NY. Bob with his mother and step father John Durante moved to Cranston R.I. in 1939. At age 17 he went into the Merchant Marines working for the Army Transport service.

On November 11th 1948 he married Carmella Marsella of Cranston, R.I. After working 7 years for General Electric he and family moved to Anaheim, Ca. to work for a manufacturing co. as plant supt. After retiring in 1989, he and his wife moved to Grants Pass.

He was a lifetime member of the Rouge Gem and Geology club. Other interests were faceting and lapidary work, reading archaeology and world history.

He was survived by his wife, son Edward of Hartselle, AL., three grandsons, one granddaughter, and six great grandchildren.
