Robert Lee Harris

Robert Lee “Bob” Harris, age 79, of Cave Junction, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at his home.

A visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cave Junction.

A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cave Junction. Another funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lebanon, Oregon with interment to follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 SE 8th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Bob was born February 18, 1924 in Lebanon, Oregon to Newton E. & Frances C. (Harvey) Harris. He grew up in the Willamette Valley. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines. He worked as a gypo logger for 57 years. On November 29, 1996 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Boise, Idaho he married Linda C. Lloyd. In 1996 he moved from Chiloquin to Cave Junction.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 49 years and a member of the Cave Junction ward since 1996.

He especially enjoyed gardening, fishing, and his dog, Buddy.

In addition to his wife, Linda C. Harris of Cave Junction; survivors include a daughter, Anita Winona of Deming, New Mexico; a son, Dwight Harris Of Bliss, Idaho; two sisters, Ruth Moss and Frances Callahan both of Lebanon; 37 grandchildren; and seven great-granchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Frances J. (Carrick) Harris and a granddaughter, Sharon Harris.
