Robert L Jackson

Robert L. Jackson, Grants Pass, Oregon, died on November 16, 2017. He was 92 years old. Robert was born January 13, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles I. Jackson Jr. and Darline M. Jackson (Fisher).

Robert married Donna Mae Schuh on May 1, 1946. They had four (4) children: Darline J. Webster, Carol L. (Harry) Davis, L. Mark (Karen) Jackson, and Robert C. (Pam) Jackson.

Robert enlisted in the Army at the young age of 18 on July 13, 1943, and served in Italy during WWII. He was a member of the Grants Pass Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Robert was a member of the Masonic East Gate Lodge No. 630 A.F. & A.M., Des Moines, Iowa; initiated March 21, 1962; passed April 4, 1962; and raised May 30, 1962.

Robert and Donna moved from Des Moines, Iowa, to Grants Pass, Oregon, in the spring of 1972. While living in Grants Pass, Oregon, Robert started his own construction business and later worked for the U.S. Forestry Department. Prior to moving to Grants Pass, Oregon, Robert worked for the Armstrong Tire Company located in Des Moines, Iowa.

Robert is survived by three (3) of his children - Carol, Mark, and Robert; nine (9) grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Reva M. Jackson.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Donna; daughter Darline; granddaughter Rhonda R. Jackson; parents Darline M. Jackson and Charles I. Jackson Jr.; and brothers Warren I. Jackson and C.I. Jackson III and C.I.’s wife Elsie.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, at Granite Hill Cemetery.
