Robert John "Bob" Lenander

Robert John “Bob” Lenander, age 63, of Rogue River, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Ashley Manor after having Parkinson’s the past six years.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Evans Valley Bible Church, 7924 E Evans Creek Road in Wimer with Pastor Scott Purrier officiating. Private inurnment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Bob was born November 18, 1948 in Berkeley, California to Barbara & Robert Lenander. At the age of 13, the family moved to Seattle, Washington and in 1966 he graduated from Tahoma High School. He worked for Weyerhaeuser and Fischer Flour Mill before joining the United States Navy in 1969. He served aboard the USS Jouett where he specialized as an electrician and was honorably discharged in 1972. While in the Navy he had a short-term marriage and had two daughters, Laura Lenander and Katina Lenander. He then was married to Badona Pecor for 12 years and had two children, Jon Lenander and Sonya Lenander with the marriage ending in 1988. He met the love of his life, Elizabeth Moore and they were married in 1997 and moved to Rogue River. Over the years he worked in construction in Seattle, Cle Elum and the Rogue River Valley as a self-employed carpenter and in the Carpenter’s Union.

Bob was an elder at Hope Presbyterian Church and belonged to SASS (Single Action Shooting Society).

His hobbies included remodel work, stone work, and vegetable gardening.

Bob is survived by his wife of 15 years, Elizabeth Moore Lenander of Rogue River, Oregon; four children, Laura Lenander and Katina Lenander both of Seattle, Washington, Jon Lenander of Ellensburg, Washington and Sonya Lenander of Pocatello, Idaho; his father, Robert H. Lenander of Seattle, Washington; his mother, Barbara Boyington of Cochise, Arizona; a sister, Karen May of Rainier, Washington; two brothers, Tim Lenander and Rob Petersen both of Seattle, Washington; and six grandchildren, Dylan Lenander, Bradley Lenander, Jacob Lenander, Tyler Lenander, Harley McMeeken and Skyelar Winn.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nils Lenander and his grandmothers, “Mamo” and Laura McCartney.
