Robert Harold Parkyn

Robert Harold Parkyn of Grants Pass, OR passed away at the age of 92 on March 18, 2019. He was born October 25, 1926 in Sacramento, CA to Harold and Effie Parkyn.

From November 12, 1943 until his honorable discharge on July 25, 1946, Robert proudly served in the United States Navy and was a WWII veteran earning a Victory Medal. For many years he worked as an industrial electrician and after retirement he became very involved in the Mason’s Lodge becoming a 32nd degree Mason himself. His hobbies included woodworking, traveling and dancing, he was known as being quite a "jitter bug" on the dance floor.

Robert is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jean Parkyn of Grants Pass, OR; his children, Lexy (Dennis) Homen of Rocklin, CA; Lynn (Rebecca) Parkyn of Lincoln, CA; Robert (Patricia) Parkyn of Jackson, CA; Son-in-Law, Matthew Kramer of Shingle Springs, CA; Grandchildren, Tiphanie (Karl) Weiss; Eric (Julie) Homen; Heidi (David) Parkyn-Corter; Sean (Artina) Parkyn; Matthew Parkyn; Steven Parkyn; Matthew Kramer; Kristin Kramer; Patrick Kramer and 13 great grandchildren. Robert is also survived by his stepchildren, Doug (Sandie) Frost; Donna Frost; Diane (Dan) Coughlin; Denise Rush and David (Sandy) Frost; 12 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; second wife, Dorothy; youngest daughter Patti; great granddaughter, Shannon and 2 step children.

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.since1928hull.com.
