Robert Earl Stonebrook

Robert Earl Stonebrook, age 79, of Grants Pass, died August 20, 2017 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Robert was born April 13, 1938 in Porterville, California to Earl & Gertrude Stonebrook. In 1948, he moved with his family to Oregon and he later married Christine Mortenson on October 17, 1959 in Salem. In 1960, they moved to Plains, Montana where Robert pioneered Peppermint Farming. In 1975, together with his family they moved to Cambria, California where he owned and operated a cattle ranch. While in Cambria, he started a chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men. He has always been involved with various ministries among which include Dick Mills Ministries and the Gideons. In 1990, they moved to Grants Pass where he developed subdivisions. Although he sold his cattle ranch in 1990, he continued to operate the farm in Montana for the rest of his life.

Robert was a small aircraft pilot since 1965. He joined International Flying Farmers and flew twice to Haiti in his private plane where he volunteered doing missionary work. He and Christine explored the Holy Land, Israel, Egypt, Greece, and other Middle Eastern countries.

Robert is survived by his wife, Christine Stonebrook of Grants Pass, Oregon; three children, Debra Munson of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Diana Wardian of Grants Pass, Oregon and Darren Stonebrook of Merlin, Oregon; a sister, Esther Ediger of Dallas, Oregon; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Beverly Stonebrook and a brother, Dr. Philip Stonebrook.

A viewing will be from 11:00-12:30 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
