Richard Lee "Dick" Magerle

Richard Lee “Dick” Magerle, age 83, of Rogue River, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home.

A viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church, 4233 East Evans Creek Road, Rogue River. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship or Grace Baptist Church Youth Ministries.

Dick was born September 3, 1931 in Rogue River to Carl & Blanche Magerle, a 5th generation of the Neathamer Family, pioneer settlers of Rogue River. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from September 18, 1952 to June 18, 1954. On January 5, 1955 he married Elsa Mae Tillman.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Effingham and husband John of Christmas Valley, Oregon and Martha Longtain and husband Ken, of Rogue River, Oregon; seven grandchildren and spouses, five great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Snow of Rogue River, Oregon; sister-in-law, Marie Pierce of Salem, Oregon and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Elsa Magerle; parents, Carl & Blanche Magerle; brother, George Magerle; sisters, Virginia Parren, Maxine Wood and Bessie Clyde; and nephews, Leslie Parren and George Magerle.
