Richard “Dick” Teal Sr, age 75, of Grants Pass, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Dick was born May 23, 1936 in Crescent City, California to Henry Richard Teal & Jessica (Small) Teal. In 1955 he moved to Jacksonville, Oregon and graduated from Jacksonville High School. He joined the United States Army and later was also drafted into the Army. In 1956 he married Donna McIntire and they divorced in 1960. In 1961 he married Joyce Harmon and they later divorced in 1997. He worked as a cat skinner in the logging industry before going to work for Stack Construction and then Copeland Paving Sand & Gravel for 30 years retiring in 1997. From 1978 to 1995 he owned and operated the Clovercrest Market on Cloverlawn Drive.

Dick was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, building RCA planes, woodworking and spending time with family and friends including a close group of lifelong friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Katy Floyd and a granddaughter, Ashley Floyd both of Grants Pass, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by a son, Duke Teal in 1978.
