Raymond Stark

September 1, 1916 — May 9, 2022

Raymond George Stark (Ray)

Sept 1 1916 to May 9 2022 yes 105 years Young

Ray was born Sept 1, 1916 to Mary Margret and Albert Stark in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Ray, as he was known by everyone he came in contact with, met the love of his life Thelma Lorraine Richman and they were married Dec 24 1937, and then moved to Toronto. He served in the Canadian Army training troops for WWII.

In April 1942, Thelma gave birth to twins Peter and Paul. In 1946 they moved to Kitchener, Ontario, Canada where Ray worked for the Dominion Tire and Rubber Company. Robert was born in March 1946 and Reginald in February 1951 and finally in January 1953 they got their girl, Cheri. In 1958 Ray and his family moved to San Diego, California for a better life for all.
Ray’s last employment was at Airco Cryogenics where he retired in 1981. Ray and Thelma were loyal Elks members in California and Oregon. They will be remembered for the matching outfits made by Thelma that they wore any time they were out.

Thanks to Robert aka (Bob) and grandson Ron, Ray was taken on the trip of his life to Scotland for his 100th Birthday. He never forgot how much fun they had in all the distilleries and the plane ride home three weeks later. Also, for his 100th birthday, 60 plus members of Ray’s family surprised him with a party in Las Vegas.

Ray joined the Auxiliary with his wife, Thelma, in 1991. Back then the volunteers were known as ‘Pink Ladies” and Ray was the first man to join. He happily donned the pink uniform and paved the way for many other men to become part of the Auxiliary. He was a member for over 30 years.

Ray lost Thelma after 70 years together. Ray continued to work for Three Rivers Hospital and Pillow Talk until a ripe old age of 103. He was the pride & Joy of Three Rivers Hospital.

Ray was preceded in death by Thelma in October, 2009, a son Peter May, 1996 and a son Robert April, 2017. We miss you all.
