Ray Elmer Thompson, age 71, of Grants Pass, died Friday, December 18, 2009 at his home.

A viewing will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church with Reverend Randel Livingood officiating.

Ray was born July 8, 1938 in Burbank, California. He attended 8th grade at Grants Pass Junior High School. On June 29, 1963 in San Fernando, California he married Sharon Van Hooser. His aeronautics career spanned 19 years from 1967 to 1986 designing and installing custom interiors for aircraft. In 1984 he customized the interior for Ronald Regan’s Airforce 1.

Ray loved animals, especially horses; motorcycles; hot rods; traveling; street hockey; and model airplanes.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Thompson of Grants Pass; a daughter, Kelly Moutsatson of Grants Pass; a sister, Janette Kasten of Chino Valley, Arizona; and three grandchildren.
