Ray Clifford Black, age 84, of Rogue River, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at his home.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Ray was born August 28, 1925 in Portland, Oregon to Clifford & May Black. During World War II he served in the United States Army. He was in Germany and Belgium and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Over the years he worked at many things including a mechanic for Bechtel Corp and he retired from Dyn-Corp in 1990.
He was a loving, caring husband and father and always wanted to help others. He loved gardening, the outdoors, and cars. He always owned an older Cadillac and owned many different ones thru the years.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Black; two daughters, Kathleen Ponce and husband Joe and Sharleen Hicks and husband Jerry; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Lance Rawlings.
