Ralph Francis Hoffer, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 a Three Rivers Community Hospital.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Peter O’Brien officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

He was born November 13, 1917 in Lismore, Minnesota to Jacob & Rose Hoffer. He was the youngest of a family of 13 and spent his youth in Saskatchewan, Canada. In November 1933 he moved with his family to Santa Ana, California. During World War II he served in the United States Air Force in the European Theater with the rank of Tech Sergeant. In May 1947 in Santa Ana he married Margie Johnson. In 1979 he retired from the United States Postal Service in Brookings, Oregon and in 1994 moved from Brookings to Grants Pass.

He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.

His hobbies included ice hockey, baseball, fishing, and traveling.

Survivors include two sons, James Hoffer and Jack Hoffer both of Grants Pass; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Hoffer in May 1999, five brothers, seven sisters, and his parents.
