Raimond C. Hesse

June 9, 1957 — February 10, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and untimely death of Raimond “Rai” Carl Hesse. Rai was born to Walter and Bette Hesse in Santa Rosa, Ca. Rai spent much of his life living in Forestville, Ca. In 1982 Rai married the love of his life Alane and had two sons. Although life took them on separate paths for many years, love was always there. In 2019 their paths aligned once again, and they were set to be remarried in August on their original anniversary.

In life Rai was a master diesel mechanic, worked in underground construction and had a passion for earth mover construction equipment. For a short time, he owned his own construction company. Rai could be rough on the outside, but he had a tender heart and was an old-fashioned gentlemen. Rai had many dogs in his life, and was a dog lover till the end, but none more than his beloved “Lady”. Rai was a good man who contributed to charities and non-profits that he supported.

Rai was a hard worker, he enjoyed and took pride in the work he did. Most recently he worked for Shear Builders Inc. for over a decade. In 2021 Rai was able to retire from work and move to his family home in Cave Junction, Oregon with Alane. Rai was happy in retirement and looking forward to many years of passion projects, travel, and spending time with loved ones. Unfortunately Rai was taken too soon.

In addition to Alane, Rai is survived by a daughter from his first marriage Jennifer Lynn Bullis; his two sons Darren Carl Hesse; Michael Paul Hesse; as well as 6 grandchildren and many friends.

In lieu of flowers and to honor his love for dogs, our family recommends making a donation in Rai’s name to a no kill animal shelter.
