Quentin "Tintin" Yoshiwara

Quentin “TinTin” Yoshiwara, age 18, of Cave Junction, died May 25, 2016.

Quentin was born March 15, 1998 in Grants Pass and raised in Cave Junction. He attended Illinois Valley High School, class of 2016. He worked at McDonalds in Grants Pass and Subway in Cave Junction. He enjoyed working and received great references from his employers.

Quentin had a good work ethic and volunteered for local community events, for Y.E.S. (Youth Empowerment and Support) a non-profit Cave Junction organization; and helped build the Cave Junction skate park.

He was kind-hearted and optimistic; had a contagious smile; and was always willing to help others. He was known as a peace keeper.

Quentin was an artist, especially pencil drawings and oil on canvas. He also enjoyed singing, stacking rocks, the river and nature.

Survivors include his father, Aaron Yoshiwara of Cave Junction; paternal grandmother, Stephanie Crombie of Cave Junction; paternal grandfather, Dean Yoshiwara and wife Christine of Moor Park, California; maternal grandfather, Gary Croft of Rogue River; his siblings, Adrian Rund and Destiny Yoshiwara both of Cave Junction; John Steel, Cynthia Steel, Jessica Steel, Matthew Steel and Christopher Croft all of Grants Pass; his cousins who lived with him as siblings, Cambria Cook, Dillon Cook, Kenzie Yoshiwara, Jordan Cook, Nikkia Yoshiwara, Ryon Martinho, Micah Martinho, Simon Kinberg, and Sydney Kinberg all of Cave Junction; uncles, Brent Kinberg, Ryon Yoshiwara, and Matthew Yoshiwara; aunts, Lori Kinberg, Misti Yoshiwara, Shanna Yoshiwara and Kimberly Yoshiwara; great-aunts, Sherren Smiley and Candy Crombie; great-uncle, Ted Crombie; many nieces and nephews including Olivia the apple of his eye; and Quentin’s beloved dog “Marley.”

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shelley Marie Croft in 2008.

A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday June 5, 2016 at Illinois River Forks State Park-Pavilion in Cave Junction with interment following at Laurel Cemetery.

A potluck will follow the cemetery interment and will be held at Illinois River Forks State Park-Pavilion.

Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
