Phyllis H. Davenport

Phyllis H. Davenport, 93, of Grants Pass, died Friday, August 4, 2006 at her home.

A cryptside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2006 at City View Cemetery in Salem. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to SRV, c/o Kathy Wallman at Evergreen Federal Bank, 969 SE 6th Street, Grants Pass OR 97526. SRV is a program to help seniors continue living in their own homes.

Phyllis was born February 17, 1913 in Seattle, Washington. In 1938 St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Silverton she married Delbert Davenport. She moved from Eugene to Grants Pass 55 years ago. From 1955 to 1976 she was a teacher at Lincoln Elementary School.

Her memberships included the Presbyterian Church; Grants Pass Bridge Club; PEO Sisterhood; and Retired Teachers Association.

She enjoyed crewel, traveling, and playing duplicate bridge. She became a life master in duplicate bridge.

Survivors include three daughters, Adelle DiGiorgio of Oak Harbor, Washington; Donna Tucker of Portland; and Estelle Redd of Grants Pass; a son, Wally Davenport of Portland; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
