March 31, 1933 – March 18, 2020

Beloved brother, father, and grandfather. Phil, or Duane as he was known to many, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2020, at the age of 86, after a long, full life. Phil was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1957. He married Yvonne Jett in 1955 and they lived in Germany before returning to Oklahoma. Upon discharge from the service, Phil and Yvonne moved to Southern California, settling in Moorpark where they worked and raised a family.

Phil enjoyed a long career at Cal Trans in Moorpark from 1963 to 1995. Soon after retirement, he moved to Cave Junction, Oregon where he enjoyed many wonderful years with his second wife Lydia Parker. Many Spring and Summer breaks where spent at Papa's house in the country where he entertained his grandchildren and let them just be kids. He lived the last years of his life in Grants Pass, Oregon. Phil enjoyed carpentry, cars, camping, fishing, gardening and country swing dancing. He could fix or build anything. His greatest pride and accomplishment was his family that he loved so dearly.

Phil is survived by his daughters Yvette (Jeff) and Kellye (Mark), grandchildren Christina, Garrett, Mitchell, MacKenzie, Taylor as well as his brothers Wayne (Dorothy) and Rex (Verneil). He will be missed by many and forever in our hearts.

A private celebration of life will be held in his honor.
