Peggy Lou Crider

March 29, 1934 — July 29, 2018

Peggy Lou Crider was born Margaret Louise Moore on March 29, 1934.

She passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in Grants Pass, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ray, parents Newell and Yula Moore and step-granddaughter Jessica Cardenas. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her children Susan (Randy) Kuglin and Mike (Loretta) Crider; grandchildren Matt (Breanna) Crider, Joshua Crider, Betsy (Adam) Schroeder, and Rebecca (Hugo) Bumgardner, step-grandchildren Cameron Cardenas and Presley Norton; great grandchildren Allie and Emma Schroeder (and a sister due in 2 months), Preston Crider, and Harlynn Bumgardner; sister Barbara (Bill) Gilliam; brother Jay (Arlene) Moore; and sister-in-law Glenna (Crider) Zimmerman.

Peggy was born in Santa Ana, California, and her early life was spent on the move with a Father in the military. They finally settled back in Santa Ana, where her Father became one of the first, if not the first, Pediatrician in Orange County. Her Mother was a school teacher, having taught all grades and college, and was a published author and avid traveler.

Peggy’s first career was as a stay-at-home Mom to two busy children. As an empty nester, her second career was as a school bus driver for Newport Mesa School District (California), from which she retired after 15 years of hair-raising stories. Peggy and Ray moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where they had their “dream” home built on a God-given piece of property, calling it their B&B between California and Washington for family and friends. Seven years after Ray’s passing, Peggy moved to Countryside Retirement Village, where she made many new friends. The family wishes to thank Countryside and Grace Bible Church for the many invaluable ways they watched over Peggy in her twilight years. She loved life, living independently to the end. We would be remiss, and given a stern admonition, if we neglect to mention that Peggy never received a moving or parking citation her entire life. Good job, Mom!

Celebration of life service is August 11, 2018, 11:00 am, at Grace Bible Church, 1555 NE 10th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon, with visitation a half hour before. Memorials may be made to The Ray Crider Memorial Fund.
