Paula L. Schmieder

Paula L. Schmieder, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at her home at Redwood Terrace.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Private interment will be at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, California. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Paula was born June 5, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri to John William Preusser & Caroline Neumueller Preusser and was raised there. On July 16, 1944 in St. Louis she married Buford S. Schmieder Sr. They moved to California in 1954 and Paula was a homemaker all her life. In 2006 she moved from California to Grants Pass to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law, and only grandchild.

Paula was a member of Parkway Christian Center.

Her hobbies included cake decorating, letter writing, and corresponding with friends and family.

Survivors include two sons, Buford Schmieder Jr of Laguna Niguel, California and Gordon Schmieder, wife Renee, and granddaughter, Darcy Schmieder all of Grants Pass; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Schmieder Sr in 1985.
