Patrick Lee McGillivray, age 59, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at his home.

A visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Peter O’Brien officiating. Private interment will be at Wilderville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 1131 NE 10th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Patrick was born to Hugh Everett McGillivray and Evelyn Rose (Gerard) McGillivray on December 22, 1948 in Tillamook, Oregon. In 1971 Pat graduated from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Forest Management. During the 1970’s he lived in Tigard for two years then moved to Vancouver, Washington where he lived for three years and worked for a log exporter. On July 8, 1972 in St. Paul,Oregon he married Carla Ernst. For 13 years they lived in Medford before moving to Grants Pass in 1991. He was employed with 4-Ply Plywood, Boise Cascade, Murphy Creek Lumber, and Erickson Aircrane. He also owned and operated Pat McGillivray Logging, which was affiliated with Superior Lumber. He currently owned and operated Pat McGillivray Trucking and Pat McGillivray Land Use Consulting as a developer and planner for subdivisions.

Pat was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the Society of American Foresters. He served as a Boise Cascade representative to the Southern Oregon Resource Alliance founded by Anne Basker.

While raising his children he volunteered as an assistant Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America, as a Boys & Girls Club soccer coach in both Medford and Grants Pass, and helped rebuild the McCaleb Ranch Bridge.

His many hobbies included fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, woodworking, restoring old cars, boating, gardening and greenhouse growing.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Jane McGillivray of Grants Pass; a daughter, Kristen Lee McGillivray of Portland; two sons, Sean Patrick McGillivray and Brian Carl McGillivray both of Grants Pass; his mother, Evelyn Rose McGillivray of Eugene; three brothers, Michael George McGillivray of Veneta, Hugh Dean McGillivray of Bend and Kelly Ray McGillivray of Veneta.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Peggy Parker; and his grandfather, Clyde Gerard.
