Patricia Lesiecki

October 18, 1930 — January 17, 2012

Former Cave Junction resident, Patricia Lesiecki, age 81, of Leaburg, Oregon died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church with Father William Holtzinger officiating. Private interment will be at Deer Creek Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Patricia was born October 18, 1930 in Hollywood, California to Charles & Florence (Randall) Barry. On January 16, 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada she married Maciej Lesiecki. She lived in Cave Junction for 37 years. In her retirement she traveled to Europe and owned and operated Illinois Valley Dry Cleaners and House of Pendleton. Five months ago she moved to Leaburg.

Patricia was a member of St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church. She donated fabric to the quilt group at both St. Patricks and St. Anne Catholic Church.

In the early 1980s she founded and established the Illinois Valley Wild Blackberry Festival. She also founded the Junior Savings Program at Evergreen Elementary and Lorna Byrne Middle School.

Her hobbies included cooking, embroidery, canning, sewing, homemaking and spending time with her family. She was known for her service to others.

In addition to her husband, Maciej Lesiecki of Leaburg, Oregon; Patricia is survived by three sons, Konrad Lesiecki of Glendale, California, Charles Lesiecki and Noel Lesiecki both of Cave Junction, Oregon; two daughters, Maria Hawk of Elk Grove, California and Jeanette Montgomery of Cave Junction, Oregon; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

In 1976 she was preceded in death by a son, Mark.
