Patricia Carr

Patricia Carr, age 77, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 12 o’clock noon, Friday, January 30, 2009 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Russ Millsaps officiating. A reception gathering of family and friends will immediately follow. Private inurnment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Patricia was born January 16, 1932 in Elkhart, Indiana to James & Margaret (Austgen) Kessler. In 1940 she moved with her family to California. There she met and married her high school sweetheart, Stuart W. Carr on June 19, 1949. She raised two children. For 30 years she worked for the Aerospace Industry and together with her husband retired on the same day in 1987. In 1988 they moved from Canoga Park, California to Grants Pass. She lived a rich and full life.

Patricia was a member of the Red Hatters Society, Colonial Valley Women’s Club, and Colonial Valley Ladies Golf Club.

Her hobbies included sewing, golfing, traveling, gardening, and enduring “softball games.”

In addition to her husband, Stu Carr of Grants Pass; she is survived by a daughter, Debi Cekosh and her husband Bruce of Vashon, Washington; a son, Larry Carr and his wife Pat of Gig Harbor, Washington; a brother, Jim Kessler of Van Nuys, California; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Brennan and Marilyn Nuhn; her mother, “Maggie”; and her granddaughter, Allison Nicole Carr.
