Pastor Jim Roberts, age 63, of Wolf Creek, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2011 at Wolf Creek Alliance Community Church with Pastor Dennis Pust officiating. Private interment will be at Reedsport Cemetery in Reedsport, Oregon. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Jim was born August 19, 1947 in Coos Bay, Oregon to James & Claudia Roberts. In 1965 he graduated from Reedsport High School and in 1967 joined the United States Army serving in Germany and Vietnam prior to his honorable discharge in 1969. He then attended Southern Oregon College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement in 1972. On August 11, 1973 in Medford he married Deborah Overmiller. Jim attended Multnomah School of the Bible and Western Evangelical Seminary where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology in 1984. For 28 years he served within the Christian and Missionary Alliance working in church development in Tigard, Oregon and then pastored churches in Klamath Falls and Wolf Creek. In 1988 he moved from Klamath Falls to Wolf Creek and since then served as pastor of Wolf Creek Alliance Community Church. On October 20, 1999 he received his ordination.

Jim was a member of the Glendale Valley Community Singers, Sunny Wolf Community Response Team, and Hims & Hers Singing Group of Wolf Creek.

His hobbies included singing, reading, traveling to the Oregon coast, watching old movies, and spending time with people – especially those that loved rejoicing in the Lord.

In addition to his wife, Debbie Roberts of Wolf Creek, Oregon; he is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Roberts of Wolf Creek, Oregon; a son, Andrew Roberts of Portland, Oregon; and four sisters, Karen Jahn of Tucson, Arizona, Jan Handley of Lacey, Washington, Joy Jensen of Corvallis, Oregon, and Judy Coats of Springfield, Oregon.
